Scimitar Chairs

Scimitar Chairs

The Scimitar Chair, designed by Preben Fabricius and Jorgen Kastholm and first shown to the public in 1963 in Copenhagen, is a distillation of an idea brought together using disparate materials and made possible by combining proto-typical production capabilities of the period with a risk taking manufacturer.  In this case, upholsterer and furniture manufacturer Ivan Schlecter realized the two architect's design in stainless steel and leather thereby evolving one of the most iconic chairs of the period.

This pair, originally sold through Den Permanente, retains original materials, perfect patina and solid form.
